This in-depth session looks at your whole body and your whole story. We explore spine and hip mobility, postural and pelvic alignment, movement patterns, strength, and coordination. We also assess your abdominal wall and breathing mechanics to understand how your system is working together.
If appropriate and with your consent, an internal pelvic floor exam may be included. This allows us to assess skin integrity, sensation, coordination, strength, flexibility, and muscle tone using one gloved, lubricated finger in the vaginal or rectal canal. You are in control throughout the process, and anything can be paused or skipped.
We’ll end with a clear understanding of what’s contributing to your symptoms, what your body needs, and how we can support your goals. You’ll receive education, initial treatment, and personalized guidance.
-
Each follow-up session is guided by your individual plan of care and meets you exactly where your body is that day. We focus on nervous-system-based retraining—helping you strengthen the brain-to-body connection, coordinate your deep core and pelvic floor, and build a stable, adaptable foundation.
Hands-on care may include soft tissue work (manual massage, cupping, or gua sha), myofascial release, visceral mobilization, and gentle pelvic alignment techniques. These sessions weave in breath work and aromatherapy to support ease and regulation.
We may also incorporate somatic practices, nervous system regulation strategies, vagal nerve stimulation, Mat Pilates–based or therapeutic movement, and creative functional activities to help you integrate new patterns into daily life.
You’ll always leave with self-treatment tools and simple at-home practices to support your progress between sessions.
-
If getting to the clinic is challenging or you live farther away, virtual sessions are a convenient way to receive pelvic wellness support from the comfort of your home. These sessions offer guidance for pelvic floor concerns, as well as tailored care during pregnancy and the postpartum period. We’ll walk through education, movement, self-treatment strategies, and nervous system support—just as intentionally as we would in person.
-
If coming into the clinic feels difficult or you simply prefer care in the comfort of your own space, in-home sessions bring pelvic wellness support directly to you. We meet you where you are—physically and emotionally—to offer individualized guidance for pelvic floor concerns (for all genders), as well as tailored care during pregnancy and throughout the postpartum period.
These mobile visits can include either an initial evaluation or follow-up sessions, weaving together education, gentle movement, self-treatment techniques, nervous system support, and hands-on care when appropriate. The goal is to create a calm, supportive environment right in your home, with the same intention and quality you’d receive in the clinic.
-
We offer 90-minute specialized in-home postpartum evaluations focused on ergonomic support and pelvic wellness. During this visit, we assess how you’re lifting, feeding, carrying, and moving throughout your day—especially with your baby and around your home setup.
We look at:Body mechanics that support healing
Safe transitions (getting in/out of bed, car, chair, etc.)
Baby-care ergonomics (feeding, diapering, holding, baby-wearing)
Pelvic floor–friendly movement strategies
Breathing and core coordination
Environmental modifications to reduce strain and ease daily tasks
You’ll receive personalized recommendations, hands-on guidance, and simple strategies you can integrate right away to support recovery, comfort, and confidence in your daily routines.

What I Treat
〰️
What I Treat 〰️
Pelvic Pain & Sexual Dysfunction
Pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction can result from pelvic floor muscle overactivity or tension, hypervigilance, hypersensitivity, nerve irritation or dysfunction, trauma, scar tissue from giving birth or from post-operative surgery, and/or hormonal changes.
Through a trauma-informed lens, we help you connect with your pelvic floor to build awareness of what and where your pelvic floor is and how to coordinate those muscles. Treatment can consist of helping you build a toolbox of nervous system regulation and mindfulness strategies, review of breathing mechanics, internal and external myofascial work throughout the body and/or pelvic area, visceral mobilization, and down training strategies to help facilitate pelvic floor lengthening and relaxation to relieve pain symptoms. Holistic education and lifestyle modification related to hormone changes and imbalance is discussed. Afterall, it’s not just about kegels.
Common issues treated include (but not limited to):
Pain with intimacy
Issues from birth or abortion
Dyspareunia
Vulvodynia/Vestibulodynia
Vaginismus
Pudendal Neuralgia
Endometriosis and adenomyosis
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) or painful bladder syndrome
Painful menstruation
Perimenopause and menopause
Pubic symphysis and/or groin pain
Sacroiliac or SI joint pain
Tailbone pain
Urinary Issues
Urinary dysfunction can happen with coughing, sneezing, laughing, running, jumping, lifting, bending, or reaching. On the other hand, it can feel like you can’t completely empty your bladder or you’re rushing to the bathroom every hour or less with intense waves of urinary urgency.
Pelvic floor therapy treatment includes assessing your pelvic floor muscle strength and coordination (especially in the activity you want to get back into such as running, lifting, or childcare), posture, delving into your dietary and lifestyle habits, education on the impacts of stress and environment, as well as your breathing mechanics.
Common urinary issues treated (but not limited to):
Stress urinary incontinence
Urge urinary incontinence
Urinary urgency and frequency
Leakage with orgasm
Pelvic organ prolapse
Overactive bladder
Interstitial Cystitis (or painful bladder syndrome)
Chronic UTIs, yeast infections, or bacterial vaginosis (BV)

Bowel Issues
Bowel issues are symptoms such as chronic constipation, fecal or anal leakage, pain with defecation, inability to completely empty your bowels, persistent abdominal or rectal pain, and/or digestive issues. These issues occur for a variety of reasons.
Pelvic floor therapy can help by assessing your pelvic floor muscle strength and coordination as well as your breathing mechanics; delving into your dietary and lifestyle habits to optimize digestive function and stool texture, and education on the impacts of stress and environment. Treatment can also consist of internal and external manual work throughout the body and/or pelvic area, abdominal visceral release, neuro re-education, as well as nervous system regulation and mindfulness strategies to help coordinate your pelvic floor and improve bowel emptying.
Common bowel issues and conditions treated (but not limited to):
Constipation
Fecal smearing or leakage
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Colorectal conditions (i.e. Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis)
Pelvic organ prolapse (i.e. rectocele or enterocele)
Anal fissures or fistulas
Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Sensations of heaviness, seeing “something” at the opening of the vulva, feeling as if “something is falling out,” or being diagnosed with prolapse can be scary. You do not need immediate surgery to correct it. You have options! Pelvic floor therapy is the first line of conservative treatment to manage symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Many people have some degree of prolapse throughout their lives, often without knowing it. “Just doing your kegels” is not the answer, it is more nuanced and complex than that.
Pelvic floor therapy can address symptoms of prolapse through a comprehensive assessment of your posture, breathing mechanics, strength, coordination, and assessment of the core and pelvic floor. Treatment includes but is not limited to education on how to functionally manage your prolapse through pressure management, optimizing bladder and bowel function, reviewing posture and lifting mechanics, as well as strengthening your core and pelvic floor muscles.
Get help to resolve your symptoms, avoid surgery, and get back to doing the things you love (like running, weight lifting, playing with your kids) confidently and without worry!
“From the beginning, Rose made me feel comfortable and valued. She was knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I have grown to admire her patience and sincere passion for helping others. She has taught me so many techniques for achieving and maintaining pelvic health, including proper breathing, correct body mechanics for lifting, and strength training, including other areas of muscle pain and weakness that were contributing to my physical discomfort. I now feel an overall balance in my muscles, which has worked wonders for my physical comfort and well-being, and alleviated the symptoms I had begun experiencing with age. I have regained my self-esteem!
Rose has educated me by simplifying concepts and providing visual examples in a way that has enhanced my ability to grasp, properly utilize, and incorporate them into my daily routine. It has motivated me to be consistent in my home exercise program. I believe that this has contributed to my success in managing my pelvic floor problems and regaining my quality of life. I can now navigate my life daily without the uncomfortable issues I was experiencing or the fear of worsening my condition. I have the knowledge and the confidence to enjoy effective gym workouts, which is improving my overall well-being. Rose has been a champion in helping me overcome my struggles and regain my life and for that, I am so thankful for her.”

Pregnancy, Postpartum, & Birth Prep
Whether you’re in your first trimester or two weeks from delivery, pelvic floor therapy can have a life-changing impact. Starting as soon as your first trimester, we help you minimize pain, condition your pelvic floor, and keep you working and exercising safely. In addition, we help decrease any bodily aches and pains throughout pregnancy due to the hormones that create laxity in your pelvis to prepare you for childbirth or due to other musculoskeletal changes/issues. Pelvic floor therapy includes an evaluation of your alignment, posture, strength, and coordination of your core and pelvic floor muscles.
Prepare for Delivery
As your due date approaches, we equip you with knowledge on how to safely “push” your baby out and reduce the risk of perineal tearing. We also teach you and your partner perineal massage, counter pressure techniques, and explore labor positions that are optimal for your unique pelvic floor. In addition, manual techniques can be performed to release any tension surrounding the pelvic area to prepare for labor and delivery.
Postpartum
During the postpartum and “fourth trimester” phase, treatment will include helping you restore your pelvic floor and core, provide advice, and support you in feeling capable of doing everyday tasks that parent and personal life requires.
Common issues treated include (but not limited to):
Pelvic girdle pain
Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction or “lightning crotch”
Diastasis Recti (DRA)
Pelvic organ prolapse
Sciatica or other nerve issues/dysfunction
Low back pain
C-section recovery
Perineal tears after delivery
Urinary or bowel issues
Core and pelvic floor muscle incoordination or weakness
Neck, shoulder, or back pain from child care or chest feeding
Returning to sex, exercise, or work
Male Pelvic Disorders
Yes, men (and penis owners) have pelvic floors too— and they can experience a wide range of pelvic health concerns.
At The Healing Pelvis, we specialize in treating pelvic floor dysfunction in all genders, including men. Pelvic floor issues can present as urinary leakage or urgency, constipation or difficulty with bowel movements, pelvic or testicular pain, erectile dysfunction, and pain during or after ejaculation— all of which are treatable.
Unfortunately, pelvic health for men is often overlooked, and few clinics offer specialized support. We’re proud to offer inclusive, expert care backed by advanced training in male pelvic anatomy and function.
Our goal is to help you move better, feel better, and reclaim confidence in your body. Your care will always be private, respectful, and tailored to your specific needs.
Common issues treated include (but not limited to):
Urinary and bowel issues
Prostate issues or post-prostatectomy
Chronic Prostatitis
Erectile Dysfunction or sexual dysfunction
Pelvic or testicular pain
Urinary hesitation
Proctalgia Fugax
Low back or tailbone pain
Post Surgical
Oftentimes we return from surgery with little or no explanation of how to care for the new incision, how to safely move, nor information on when and how you can return to activity. This may lead to feeling discouraged and uncertain about your recovery.
Pelvic floor therapy relieves scar discomfort and pain, increases blood flow, and improves mobility of scar adhesions to ensure safe return to your activities (i.e. sex, work, exercise). Scar tissue mobilization is also important in helping to manage abdominal or pelvic pain, improve digestion, and breathing mechanics.
Post surgical procedures can include but are not limited to gender affirming surgeries, fibroid removal, hysterectomy, prolapse repairs or corrections, postpartum scars (C-section or perineal), laparoscopic incisions, abdominal surgery, or any other procedure. No matter how many years have passed, it is never too late to address these concerns.
Trans & Non-Binary, Gender Affirming Care
Pelvic Floor Therapy for All Genders
Pelvic floor therapy can be incredibly supportive for trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people — especially when navigating pelvic pain or healing from gender-affirming care. Unfortunately, the pelvic health field has historically centered cisgender women, particularly around postpartum recovery. This can make it hard for others to feel seen or included.
But here’s the truth: everyone has a pelvic floor. These muscles are important for essential functions like urination, bowel movements, and sexual health — no matter your gender or anatomy.
Pelvic floor therapy can be especially helpful for trans and nonbinary folks who’ve had gender-affirming surgeries like vaginoplasty or hysterectomy, or who are managing symptoms like vaginal atrophy or discomfort related to testosterone use. It can also be supportive for anyone experiencing pelvic pain, regardless of whether they’ve pursued medical transition.
At The Healing Pelvis, we’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for people of all genders to feel supported in their pelvic health journey.
If you're curious about how pelvic floor therapy might support you, reach out — we’d love to connect and help you feel more at home in your body.
